About
The Borsao story began with the Borja cooperative in 1958. It joined with those of Pozuelo and Tabuenca in 2001 to create Bodegas Borsao SA. The vineyards belong to 375 vine-growers, and stretch 2,260 ha at 350-800m altitude. The Moncayo shelters them, regulates temperature, and moderates the effect of the north-west Cierzo wind. Campo de Borja is the 'Empire of Garnacha'. The grape thrives here, with 60% of vineyards, but in the last 20 years Shiraz has also seen success. The mission of Bodegas Borsao is to establish their wines as the benchmark for premium Garnacha wines around the world.
